We have spent some time with our Business Development Manager Richard Huckvale. We’ve asked him some questions so you can get to know more about his role at Xenia Estates!

Tell us a little bit about your role…

My role at Xenia Estates is as a Business Development Manager. Business Development Managers, or BDMs, are key sales and marketing team members. They are responsible for building lists of sales leads, and then pitching to these prospects to build the company’s client list.

How did you get to where you are today?

Trial and error along with incredible hard work with a sprinkling of luck. I stumbled into property almost 20 years ago now and my desire and passion to succeed in this industry has grown astronomically.

How long have you been with Xenia Estates?

I am new to the company only a month in so far. I’m loving it and 100% convinced I made the right decision at this stage in my career.

What would you say makes Xenia Estates stand out?

Xenia Estates is in an industry where most managing agents will only address their routine responsibilities, Xenia Estates are proud to deliver advanced property management solutions. Without the right dynamic, passionate and forward-thinking people we would not be where we are.

What do you love about your role?

No day is the same, I love working in a reactive industry. One day I can be working from home or the office having meetings via Zoom, the next I am driving to site to have a look at the progress of one of our clients’ new developments.

How do you destress or unwind?

I love to cook (considered being a chef for a while) I love a good true crime doc, audiobook or podcast. Not sure if it helps destress but I love watching Manchester United.

If you could live anywhere in the World, where would it be?

I am super lucky that I have travelled the world and experienced so many different countries and cultures but if I must choose one place it would be Japan if you have never been I urge you to go ASAP.

What’s your favourite building in the world & why?

John Rylands Research Institute and Library. It is truly breathtaking inside and out it is littered with history and the architecture is out of this world!

What’s your go-to karaoke song?

Not one for karaoke but on the odd occasion I have been peer pressured into it The Calling “Wherever you will go” is up there haha.

City life or Country life?

I am lucky to have done both so a little mix of both is ideal but again choosing one… I am a city boy at heart and always will be.
